George Ray Hutchison, of Benedict, Kansas, age 73 died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. George was born on November 16, 1936 in Chanute, Kansas the son of Carl and Anna Josephine (Converth) Hutchison.
After college on March 26, 1959 George entered the U.S. Army. On August 7, 1960 in Ft. Scott, Kansas, George married Helen E. Meyers. They were married for 49 years until his death; she survives at their home.
After George’s retirement as a premium auditor for the Hartford Insurance Company, he enjoyed spending time on his farm fishing and hunting, picking up walnuts, working with his cow herd, and just being outside. Last year, George got his first trophy deer, which is proudly displayed at his home. Most importantly, George enjoyed being with his family, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. George was also very proud of his service to the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters: Carlene George and Adeline Hutchison.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday March 6, 2010 at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Pastor Robert Varner of the Rosehill Bible Church officiating. There will be no visitation.
