Dorene Helen “Dee” (Eslick) Bell, age 75, of Wichita, KS, and formerly of Fredonia, KS, went to be with her Lord on Sunday July 25, 2010, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS. Dee was born on August 15, 1934, in Northview, MO, the daughter of James Edward and Zella Minerva (Russell) Eslick.

After graduating from Fredonia High School in 1952, Dee received her Bachelor’s Degree in education from Phillips University, worked as a school teacher and, later, taught and then operated her own Montessori Pre-School. On June 3, 1956 Dee was married to James H. Bell at the First Christian Church in Fredonia. Dee and Jim were married for 54 years. Jim will continue to reside at their home in Wichita.

Dee was a member of the First Christian Church of Fredonia, KS. She was also a Friend of the Fredonia Public Library and a member of the Fredonia Arts Council. Dee enjoyed scrapbooking, crafts, reading and tracing family history. Most of all Dee loved her family and her Lord.

Evelyn Stafford of Wichita, KS, recently of Fredonia

Dee was preceded in death by her parents and brother Vernon Eslick

Cremation was requested. A Memorial Service celebrating Dee’s life will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010, at 11:00 am at the First Christian Church of Fredonia (303 N. 7th Street). Memorials may be made to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Kansas (www.hynesmemorial.org) or the Library of the First Christian Church of Fredonia and may be left with the funeral home.
