Lennox James Gardner

September 18, 2021 - September 18, 2021

Lennox James, beloved second son of Belinda and Nathan Gardner, and brother to Lincoln Michael Gardner, all of Independence, was born sleeping on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Lennox was diagnosed with anencephaly when Belinda was 12 weeks along but that did not stop him from being loved by many. Although he was due December 10, Lennox decided he was ready to visit his family in heaven early. Lennox will be missed by his survivors, his parents and brother; his maternal grandmother, Taina (Mimi) Copeland, of Independence; paternal grandparents, Nancy (Granny) and Jerry (Pappy) Monjure, of Independence, and Mike Gardner, of St. Joseph, Mo.; maternal great-grandparents, Linda (Grammy) Hammer, of Independence, and Larry (Papa) and Sue Hammer, of Coffeyville; paternal great-grandparents, Elden Smith, of Coffeyville, Kathy and Ron Wade, of St. Joseph, Mo., and Dean Butrick, of Highland; aunts, Sara Gardner, Shelby Monjure and Kelsie Monjure; uncles, Matthew Gardner and Nick Monjure; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends who loved him and will help keep his memory alive. A public memorial service for Lennox will be Thursday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia. All are welcomed to join the family. A memorial fund has been created for a headstone for Lennox at this link: https://gofund.me/ffc1167a Services entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home 420 S. 20th St. P.O. Box 247 Fredonia, KS 66736.
