Oren Franklin Patterson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Oren Franklin Patterson, age 85, of Chanute, KS, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 in Wichita, KS. Oren was born on August 14, 1934 to Kenneth and Leta (Sinclair) Patterson. Oren was united in marriage on February 13, 1955 to Virginia “Darlene” Babcock in Chanute, KS. He worked as the chief dispatcher for the Kansas Highway Patrol for many years. Oren served in the United States Army from 1957-1965. Oren was a proud member of the shriners and masons and was a 33 Degree mason. He enjoyed working and hanging out at the VFW in Chanute. He also enjoyed woodworking in his younger years. Oren was also a member of the VFW and American Legion. Oren is survived by: Sister: Barbara Clovis of Topeka, KS Aunt: Mary Patterson of Chanute, KS Several Nieces and Nephews He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia; siblings, Deanna Barnhart, Kenneth Patterson Jr., and Carolyn. The family will greet friends on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel at 101 N. Highland in Chanute, KS. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
