Winifred Rogene McCullough

October 19, 1927 - August 11, 2019

Rogene McCullough, age 91, of Humboldt, KS passed away on August 11, 2019 at Guest Home Estates in Chanute, KS. She was born on October 19, 1927 to Clyde and Opal (Ormsby) Baldwin in Emporia, KS. She married E.L. “Mac” McCullough on February 8, 1947 in Emporia, KS. He preceded her in death in 2009. Rogene graduated from Emporia High School in 1945. She worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell in Emporia, Iola and Humboldt. She then went to work for Monarch Cement Company in Humboldt, KS for about 24 years before retiring in 1984. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, yardwork, traveling and going out to eat. Rogene would take care of her great grandkids after school and enjoyed picking out what she was going to fix them for a snack. After going into assisted living, she loved to play bingo and everyone knew not to bother her while she was playing. She loved her family dearly and also loved her dog, Ivy. Rogene will be greatly missed. Rogene is survived by: Daughters: Timmee Hottenstein and husband Rick of Humboldt, KS Randee Yowell of Humboldt, KS Grandchildren: Mikel Yowell and wife Sheri Ricky Hottenstein and wife Andrea Jeremy Yowell Bobbie Haviland and husband Brian Loni Wilhite and husband Jon Great Grandchildren: Ty, Seth, Peyton, Jacob, Conor, Carsyn, Drake, Kenisyn, Skylar, Rylan and Drew Dog: Ivy Rogene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mac; son-in-law, Dale Yowell and siblings, Maxele Sobke and Stinson Baldwin. Graveside service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, KS. She will be lying in state on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Humboldt, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorials to be made to the Honor Flight and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 908 Central, Humboldt, KS 66748.
