To Nan and family (and Treva): I was caught totally off guard to hear of Delbert's illness and death. He was a special friend to me when I returned to Chanute, and I feel privileged to have known him. He was an inspiration and his sermons were the trigger for many things I wanted to explore in more depth. He was truly the voice of God. My mother and I will miss him greatly. Our prayers are with you.

I am so sorry for the loss of Delbert to his family and friends. He sounds like he was a wonderful man. I only met him once around 1966 and did not get to know him very well then.
He was my cousin and I feel that I missed out on knowing a truly good man. May he rest in peace.
Oh what can I say about Delbert, he was so much fun when we went to church together for years, always up for teasing and having a good time, one memory that stands out was at a church dinner, I had made asparagus casserole, he comes up to me and says “gee whiz, can you warn a guy that it’s asparagus and NOT green beans, I thought I was going to choke”, needless to say we had a big laugh about it. I know he is going to leave a whole that can’t be filled, cling to your faith and know he’s in Gods hands, love you all!
I loved hearing Rev. Sheerer preach the word of God. He always did it with such enthusiasm and hope. He was a gift to the Neosho Valley district association of Kansas. We will miss him dearly. We love you Nan.

My brother!!!! We had our sibling issues our whole life, but we loved each other and boy were we ever in trouble with our mom and dad constantly. It's definitely worth remembering laughingly and lovingly. I will miss the thought of him being here, but comforted knowing he's with our parents.
