My condolences to Reed's family. He was a bright, enthusiastic, and kind student in my Russian class last spring at KU. He was so thoughtful in how he approached learning a very difficult language, and I know that his eternally positive attitude and wonderful sense of humor impacted his classmates and instructors for the better. The Rankin family is in my thoughts.

I always enjoyed his big wave when he was driving the 6715 JD tractor at the farm. I would often see Reed tooling down the farm road hoping to spot an armadillo. The evidence of his successful hunts were everywhere from one field to another. A big young man with a big heart, big smile and always seemed eager to learn. We are so sorry to hear of Reed's passing. He was kind, polite, and an intelligent young man. I enjoyed his company and re-enacting with him and his brother. Rest in peace my friend. My sympathies to his Family. May God Bless you all.
