Dear Sweet Family,
Words cannot express how much your Mother meant to me! I felt like the Lord was leading me to write to her once a week to encourage her, and she ended up encouraging me!! Not to mention how much it meant to my family back when my first husband was attending Harding University to become a minister. Your Mother and Dad supported us monthly. It was a sacrifice on their part, but a much needed necessity on our end. I had two small children and any money I would have made would have barely paid for child care, so my way of contributing to our income was to cut hair in my home to help out. Some months we didn't know where our meals would come from, but then your parents check would arrive when we needed it most. The Lord really does supply ALL OUR NEEDS!! Sometimes he works through other people to supply what we need, as he did your parents. This is why they will always hold a special place in my heart!!! Your Mom was one of the greatest women I have ever known!! The first memory I have of Aunt Margaret was at their store that they used to own and operate. I remember how KIND she was and LOVING!!! She was a Godly woman all of her life, and she raised four Christian Men too!! I will greatly miss her!! I will really miss her letters that I grew to look forward to!!! God Bless you all, and know that even though I can't be there, I'm with you in Love, and Spirit! You will be in my prayers, I love you all!
Love Your Cousin,

What a wonderful 6th grade teacher she was. I loved it when she read to the class. Laurel Herrera
Mary Margaret Taliaferro was always one of my favorite teachers in Severy, Kansas. I was lucky enough to have her as an instructor two different times in school, during fourth grade and as a math/science/P.E. teacher in "middle school." Although I struggled learning the times table in the 4th, Mrs.Taliaferro never gave up on me, moving me to the front row so I could see the math she wrote on the blackboard (I needed glasses). Discussing her with my fellow students, we all agreed, "she's strict!," but she treated all students with respect and dignity. Once, I injured my foot playing softball; and was sitting in her classroom, loudly crying (while I waited for someone to pick me up). Mary Margaret said, "Now, quiet down; you're not hurt that badly!" The words, though somewhat unsympathetic, were just what I needed, and I immediately stopped wailing. As I became older, Mrs.Taliaferro allowed me to create "bulletin boards" for the school hallway and classroom, which was a treat for me. Looking back, she was probably glad she didn't have to make one that week! Talented in a variety of ways, I remember the first time she drew a beautiful perfect tree on the chalk board, displaying her artistic talent, and so impressive that the memory is still with me. As I became an adult, I enjoyed visiting with "Aunt Margie" even more than having her as a teacher; she was so knowledgeable, and full of life, humor, and happiness. I am sure all the angels and everyone else in heaven is gathering around her this very minute, listening to one of her funny stories about teaching and living her life. We will miss you. - Rebecca Vannocker

What a wonderful woman Mary Margaret was to us, she shared her home while we visited with my sister Helen & Marty. Mary Margaret also shared some wonderful stories on her teaching moments that lit up her face with Joy. We are sure she will bring that Joy up to Heaven. May God Bless Mary Margaret and her Family. -- Mark & Diana Williams, Colorado
