Abraham Clarence Frey's Obituary
Abraham Clarence Frey, age 90, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. He was born on October 19, 1919 in Goessel, Kansas the son of Herman J. and Anna B. (Nikkel) Frey.
On June 3, 1945 Abe was united in marriage to Dorothy Kuhn and she preceded him in death on August 11, 1991. He was a farmer and served on the Federal Land Bank Board for 30 years. Abe was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia and the Fredonia Co-op.
Abe is survived by four daughters: Vicki and Jim Gordon of Independence, Kansas, Janice and Dan Steele of Osage City, Kansas, Shelley Cannon and Kathryn Frey both of Fredonia, Kansas, two sisters Rosella Fleming of Hesston, Kansas and Elfrieda Phelps of Owasso, Oklahoma, five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Also preceding him in death was his parents and one sister Elma Schmidt Regier.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Countryside Funeral Home with Mike Myers officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6:30 until 8. Interment will be at the Fredonia City Cemetery. Family suggests contributions to the Mennonite Heritage Museum in Goessel, First United Methodist Church of Fredonia or the Fredonia Flag Fund and may be left in care of the funeral home.
