Ada Elizabeth Fry's Obituary
Ada Elizabeth Fry 70 passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
Ada was born on September 12, 1954 in Chanute, Kansas to Ernest and Lila (Piatt) Typer. Ada grew up in Chanute and attended the Chanute school system. On June 22, 1979, Ada married Charles Fry and the two later divorced. Ada worked at HBD Thermoid for 41 years before retiring in 2020.
During Ada’s free time she loved to go fishing, crochet, and spend time with her loving family. Ada was a wonderful cook; her family dearly remember her famous meatballs and cinnamon rolls. When it was time to relax, Ada could be found watching her favorite game shows on the Game Show Network.
Ada is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lila Typer, grandson, Zachary Typer, and brother, Harvey Typer.
Her memory will carry on with children, Melinda (Jamie) Dillow, Mike (Jenny) Typer, Charlie Typer, and Wanda (Cliff) Shields, grandchildren, Blake Dillow, Amy Dillow, Gillian Typer, Dakota Fry, Madilyn Typer, Axton Typer, and Isaiah Shields, and sister Linda (Roy) Fulton.
Visitation will be held at Countryside Funeral Home on Monday, August 25, 2025 with the family greeting friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 am with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
