Alfred Ray Verge's Obituary
Alfred Ray Verge, 68, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2009 in Oklahoma City. Alfred was born November 30, 1940, in Muskogee, OK, the son of William Richard and Helen L. (Baker) Verge.
After graduating from Independence High School, the class of 1960, he joined the Navy. Alfred worked as an Air Traffic Control operator for several years and when he retired from the F.A.A., he was an Air Traffic Control Instructor. Alfred loved to travel, and learn about naval history. He was a member of the Bethany First Church of the Nazarene.

Alfred was preceded in death by his father, and first wife Miriam Atkison.
Visitation will be Wednesday January 28, 2009 from 3P.M. to 7 P.M., at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia. Graveside Services will be held Thursday January 29, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Harrisonville Cemetery, with nephew Bryan Verge officiating. A Celebration of his life will follow at The First Southern Baptist Church 16th & Chestnut, Independence, KS.
