Alice M Eck's Obituary
Alice Marie Eck, 74, a lifelong resident of Fredonia, passed away peacefully at Fredonia Regional Hospital, January 25, 2017.
Born October 5, 1942 to Jewell L. (Cline) Sharp and Claude I. Sharp. A 1960 graduate of Fredonia High School and then Vernon’s School of Cosmetology in Wichita, she began working at Bon Ton Beauty Shop. On January 21, 1961; she married John C Eck. They operated a 1400-acre ranch between Toronto and Fall River Lakes, had 4 children and raised Holstein dairy cattle, Angus cattle, hogs, and farmed. After selling the big ranch in 1972, they moved to rural Coyville, where they continued to raise cattle and farm. In 1974, they started a Johnny’s Sales and Service. They moved to rural Fredonia in 1980, continued the golf cart business, and added Dixon Lawn Mower sales and service. After 35 years of being the secretary for Johnny’s Sales and Service, she retired. Alice loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by Johnny, her husband of 56 years, her children; Carolyn Reale of Oklahoma City, OK; Tena (Mike) Stultz of Ingleside, TX; Mitchell (Roya) Eck of Towanda, KS; and Annette (Brent) Cranmer of Fredonia.
Alice was the proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren; Tyler (Angie) Richardson, Allison (James) Madison, Megan Stultz, Shane Stultz, Tiffany Dunn, Logan Eck, Ki-Lane (Jason) Hulse, and Gage (Mandy) Cranmer.
Alice adored her great-grandchildren: Tyler Amison, Harper Richardson, Jase Madison, Carver and Sidney Hulse, and Isaac and Leo Cranmer.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, January 28, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fredonia at 10:00 am with Rosary being held at 9:30 AM. Visitation will start at 9:00 am at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Sacred Heart Alter Society or the Wilson County Old Iron Club, which can be left with or mailed to the Funeral Home.
