Alice Viola Scott's Obituary
Alice V. Scott, age 80, of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas. She was born on November 26, 1926 in Fredonia the daughter of Clay and Velma (Price) Honaker.
Alice was a graduate of Fredonia High School class of 1944. On October 12, 1947 Alice was united in marriage to George Gerald Scott in Fredonia. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2003.
Alice was a member of the Fredonia United Methodist Church. For 25 years Alice served as the Director of Parkview Apartments, Thanks Programs, and the Housing Authority. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, and 4-H serving as a leader. She liked to square dance, help with Meals on Wheels, take Sunflower Tours, being a part of Youth Friends USD 484 and was currently serving on the board of Area Agency on Aging.

Richard Scott and wife Caroline of Eldorado, Kansas
Three daughters:
Diana Laverty and husband Steve of Fredonia, Kansas
Deb Evans and husband Terry of Fall River, Kansas
Barbara McGinnis and husband Jerry of Fredonia, Kansas
One brother:
Clay Honaker of Fredonia, Kansas
One sister:
Mildred Shafer of Huntington Beach, California
16 Grandchildren:
Lori Cooper, Angela Speaks, Bre Thibodaux, Justin McGinnis, Jesse McGinnis, Laurie Harrier, David Scott, Jeremy Scott, Jessica Spohn, Ryan Spohn, Jay Dee Laverty, Austin Laverty, Rina Frye, Rusty Williams, Matt Evans, and Kimber Evans.
13 Great Grandchildren
2 nephews John and Mike Shafer and niece Mary Alice Pavao.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and granddaughter Melissa Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Fredonia United Methodist Church with Pastor Charlotte Coates officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at Countryside Funeral Home, Fredonia, Kansas. Interment will be at the Fredonia City Cemetery. Family suggests contributions to either the Fredonia United Methodist Church or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and may be left in care of the funeral home.
