Alicia "Sam" Ann Wright's Obituary
Alicia “Sam” Ann Wright, 65, of Fall River, Kansas died at 4:45 AM, Thursday, July 06, 2017 at the Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, Kansas. She was born February 16, 1952 in Justin, Texas, to Lonnie and Peggy Mildred (Thomas). She married Jack Wright on February 29, 1996 in Houston, Texas and he survives at the home.
“Sam”, as she was fondly nicknamed when she was younger, was a registered nurse. After Sam left the nursing profession, she eventually traveled with Jack driving a truck. Earning her CDL, she drove for a time, but loved being on the road with Jack. Their travels took them to Houston, Albuquerque, and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to name a few stops before settling in Fall River, Kansas to be near family.
Jack described Sam as “a very pretty girl” who loved to cook and who also had a great sense of humor. She loved animals, too, whether they had fur, feathers or scales. She not only had dogs and cats, but an iguana at one time. Once when she and Jack were on out on the road, Jack found a baby pig in the middle of the highway that had fallen from a stock trailer. He said for 3 months they hauled around “Piggy Sue” until she just got too big to lift into the truck. They had many a story and a laugh about traveling with cats, dogs and a pig in the truck.
Surviving Sam is her husband, Jack, their five dogs and niece Carrie Ann Moss of Kansas, Oklahoma.
Cremation has been effected and there are no services planned at this time. Condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.
