Alonzo A. Houchin's Obituary
Alonzo Arthur Houchin age 79 of Fredonia, died Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. Alonzo was born on March 15, 1937 in rural Fredonia, the son of Wilbur Enlo and Juanita Mae (Ferguson) Houchin.
After high school, Alonzo went to work doing seismograph for oil exploration. After retiring from there, he worked at Stephen's Tire in Fredonia from 1991 until his second retirement in 2004. Alonzo loved watching sports, playing golf, and riding horses. He was a member of the New Albany United Methodist Church, and was very active in all the events, and especially enjoyed the Chicken and Noodle Dinners. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family.
On April 21, 1957 in Fredonia, Alonzo married Joann Anderson, Alonzo and Joann have been married for 59 years, she survives at their home.

Alonzo was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Harvey, Ray, Glen Edgar, Darrell, and Dale Houchin. Daughter: Barbara Fraser, Grandson, Brandon Baugher and nephews Jeremy and Kevin Houchin.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10:00 am at the New Albany United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the Weakly Cemetery, with Pastor Susan Galvan officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials have been suggested to either the New Albany Methodist Church or DaVita Dialysis and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
