Althea Pearl Baker's Obituary
Althea Pearl Baker a lifelong resident of Fredonia, age 76, died Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita. Althea was born on November 21, 1934 in Fredonia, the daughter of Alva W. and Pearl (Butner) Lambert.
Althea was a graduate of Fredonia High School. On May 17, 1953 she married Clinton Frank Baker in Fredonia. Althea and Frank were married for 55 years until Frank’s death in May of 2008.
Althea was a Homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and a great cook. Althea was dedicated to her family whether it be by farm errands or making sure everyone at the field was fed. In later years she met those same needs with her warm smile and welcoming attitude. Everyone knew they could get what they needed at “Baker’s Corner.†She was a member of the Corner Stone Christian Church of Fredonia. She enjoyed collecting unique glassware and quilts. Most of all, Althea enjoyed raising her family.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Countryside Funeral in Fredonia with Pastor Mike Hughes of the Cornerstone Christian Church officiating, with burial to follow at the Weakley Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 5 to 6:30 P.M. Memorials have been suggested to either; the Cornerstone Christian Church, Saddle Pals Handicap Riding Program or the Fredonia Assembly of God Royal Rangers and may be left with the funeral home.
