Ammie Elaine Rankin's Obituary
Ammie Elaine Rankin, 78 years young, of Longton, Kansas, passed from this life Monday, December 4, 2017 with family by her side at the Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, Kansas.
Ammie was born January 22, 1939 to Joseph and Lilly Dougherty of Eureka, Kansas. She had two brothers, Dean and Bob, who preceded her in death, and is survived by one sister, Margaret Clare, who was with her during her passing. Ammie had four children, Carl Allen Johnson, who preceded her in death and is survived by Mary Love of Longton, Kansas, LeaAnn Jones of Versailles, Mo, and Tina Jackson of San Antonio, TX, and their spouses.
She loved her six grandchildren, Derick, Rochelle, Broc, Price and Cody and Joshua. She met and married the love of her life, Roger Rankin on March 3, 1994, and lived in Longton, Kansas at their farm which hosted many family events through the years. Ammie remained in Longton after Roger passed and was actively engaged in many clubs and organizations.
She was a member of the Christian Community Church of Longton, The Daughters of the Revolution, the Longton Historical Society and the Longton Library. Her love of God, Family, Friends and Community will be missed. She was a walking miracle from God, who had a positive influence on every life she in contact with.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Countryside Funeral Home at 206 East Washington in Howard, KS. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at Christian Community Church, 203 Wyandotte in Longton, KS. Interment will follow at Longton Cemetery.
