Anne Angelina Bell's Obituary
Ann Bell, age 104, of Chanute, KS, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Heritage Healthcare in Chanute. Ann was born the daughter of Milton and Grace (Hunt) Fairbanks on July 26, 1909, in Colony, KS.
Ann worked many years as a surgical nurse for a hospital in St. Louis and at KNI (Kansas Neurological Institute) in Topeka. Ann enjoyed bowling with her co-workers, sewing, doing crafts, and was always walking to town. She was also into coupon clipping, and product repurposing before it was in vogue.
She is survived by her niece Kay Galt in Chanute and nephew Bill Keys in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Grace, and four sisters; Velma Ogden, Helen Cheeseman, Mary Marie Keys, and Bertha Fairbanks.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 15, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. The family requests memorials to be made to the First Christian Church in Chanute and may be left with the funeral home. Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
