Antonia "Toni" Alonzo's Obituary
Antonia “Toni” Alonzo, age 91, of Chanute, KS passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Wichita, KS. Toni was born on April 3, 1925 in Humboldt, KS, the daughter of Socorro and Andrea (Vidal) Flores.
On June 18, 1949 she married John R. Alonzo, who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Humboldt High School. Toni worked as a waitress at La Rosa De Oro and later she volunteered at St. Patrick’s Bargain Store. She was a member of the Chanute Mexican Fiesta Committee, and a Cub Scout leader. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Chanute, KS and was also a member of the Altar Society. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, bowling and she made the best enchiladas and tamales around; however, her biggest accomplishment was raising her four sons and playing a large role in raising her four grandchildren.

Great Grandchildren:
Lucas, Celia, Abigail, Emma, Brady, Brier, Barrett, Breck
Toni was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; a son: Bernie Alonzo; brothers: Cruz and Tino Flores; and sisters: Illaria Perez and Josephine Jimenez.
Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Chanute. Interment will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family has requested memorials to St. Patrick Catholic School and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
