Arthur Mack Ayers' Obituary
Arthur M. Ayers, 86 of Fredonia, KS, died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. Arthur was born September 9, 1922, in Almond, Arkansas, the son of Peter Thomas and Effie Alice (Fuller ) Ayers
Arthur was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp, he served in the China-Burma-India Theater, he was also a crew chief on the B-29 Bombers. Arthur worked in the commercial refrigeration industry retiring from Hussman Refrigeration. In his spare time, he liked to fish and work in his garden. He liked wood-working and fixing things. When he could, he liked to travel to see the mountains and different lakes. He was a member of the 40th Bomb Group.
On November 24, 1945 in Independence, Kansas, Arthur married Opal Fern O’Brien, she survives at their home. They were married for 63 years.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Cremation has been requested. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, January 15, 2009 at High Prairie Methodist Church, Altoona.
