Barbara Sue Robinson's Obituary
Barbara Sue Robinson, age 80, of Chanute, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Neosho Regional Medical Center in Chanute, KS after a battle with cancer.
Barbara was born November 15, 1935 to Charley Hugh Arnett and Goldie Theta (Barkley) Arnett in Chanute. She attended Chanute schools, graduating in 1953. She then graduated from Clark’s Business School in Topeka, KS and worked for McCullough & Kimbrough, Attorneys at Law in Topeka.
She married William Leslie Robinson at the First Christian Church in Chanute on March 7, 1954
In June of 1957 they moved to Southern California and Barbara worked as a secretary for Shepherd Machinery Company, Whittier, CA and then later at Standard Register Company in Colton, CA. After returning to Chanute in 1974 she was employed as Municipal Court Clerk and Police Department secretary for the City of Chanute, until her retirement in 2002.
She was born again April 21, 1946 at the First Christian Church in Chanute, and was baptized September 1, 1965 into the membership of the Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Redlands, California. She was an active member since 1974 in Bethel Baptist Church in Chanute where she served as teacher and pianist. In 2008 she joined the membership of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Chanute. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and was an avid quilter and a member of the Sunflower Quilt Guild.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; a son Marc S. Robinson, and a sister Roberta Cochran.
A Funeral Service will be held at the New Hope Baptist Church in Chanute on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Leanna Cemetery.
