Belva Jean Stoops' Obituary
Belva Jean Stoops, age 67, of Elk Falls, Kansas passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas. She was born January 27, 1942 in Cherokee, Oklahoma the daughter of Ralph and Oletha (Van Sickle) Stoops.
She grew up in rural Elk Falls from age 2. She graduated from Elk Falls High School in May of 1960. She attended secretarial school in Wichita and later attended construction school in Kansas City. She worked for Ludeman Construction Company in Wichita. She later worked for U.S. Post Office in Wichita for 13 years.
Belva Jean was a very vibrant loving person with many interests. She loved her family very much. She was a gourmet cook and avid gardener. She loved animals of all kinds but especially horses and her “dogsâ€. But most important center of her life was her love for her God Jehovah. She dedicated her life to Jehovah and doing His will, sharing the scriptures with all who would listen. She was baptized and dedicated her life to Jehovah, January 27, 1952.
Belva Jean is survived by one brother Taze Stoops and wife Connie of San Antonio, Texas, one sister Saditha Marshall and husband Kenneth of Topeka, Kansas, four nephews, five nieces and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Zimmerman Funeral Home. Family suggests contributions to the Elk Falls Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and may be left with funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
