Bernita "Bert" June Schul's Obituary
Bernita June “Bert” Schul, age 76, passed away at her home on November 26, 2018. She was born in Copan, Oklahoma to Clarence E. and Edna (Dennis) Clifton on June 28, 1942. Bert married Frank Schul in Chanute on October 8, 1960. He survives at their home.
Bert was a loving wife, mom, and grandma. She enjoyed being involved in her children’s activities and participated as a room mother and Brownie Scout leader when her daughter was in school. She was a seamstress and enjoyed the role of interior designer on homes she and Frank bought and renovated. Bert also enjoyed helping in the family business, Joplin Auto Clinic, as receptionist. In her spare time, she loved listening to music, dancing with Frank, and reading anything she could lay her hands on which resulted in her being very intelligent. Bert also enjoyed writing poetry and one of her favorite lines she wrote was “I want my life to count every day.” She will be missed by many.
