Bethene L. Goodwin's Obituary
Bethene L. Goodwin, age 91, of Fall River, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019.
Beth was born to Thomas & Mabel (Whitehorn) Grant, April 30, 1928, on a farm outside Mapleton, IA, and grew up in Sioux City.
She raised her three children in Wichita, KS by working both full & part-time jobs, one being the Wichita Eagle as a proofreader. She retired to the Fall River area where she took in stray & abandoned animals. The Fredonia Library was her second home.
She is survived by her children:
Tim (Susan) Haddad of Swansea, IL
Julie Haddad (Larry Wheat) of Wichita, KS
Scott Goodwin of Clarksville, TN
Grandchildren: Stewart & Melissa Haddad of Wichita, KS, Heather Walls of Wintergarden, FL, Step-grandchildren: Kelly Blunt & Dustin Weiser of IL
Many much beloved cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six half-brothers & sisters.
In lieu of a memorial service, memorial contributions can be made to Pound Pals or the Fredonia Public Library. They can be left with or mailed to Countryside Funeral Home, P.O. Box 247, Fredonia, KS 66736
The family would like to thank everyone in the Fall River & Fredonia area who looked after her and took such good care of her. The generosity of spirit in your community is truly commendable. Many blessings to you all.
