Betty Sue Adsmond's Obituary
Betty Sue Adsmond, age 73 of Leon, KS, passed away October 14, 2022 at Susan B Allen Hospital in
El Dorado, KS.
Betty was born July 22, 1949 in Wichita, KS to Joe and Mary (Masters) Murphy. She grew up alongside 8 siblings and attended West High School.
On December 10, 1966, Betty married Thomas Adsmond, Sr. in Howard, KS. Together, they raised 2 sons, and would have celebrated 56 wonderful years together this December. During their marriage, they lived in Howard, Park City, Andover, and ended up in Leon, where they have lived for the last several years. Betty worked as an Operator at the El Dorado Refinery for several years until she retired.
Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, and quilting. She was an animal lover, and loved to take care of her parrot, dogs and a few stray cats. She watched Animal Planet almost continuously. She was a life member of Amazon Prime, and they were delivering something she had bought almost every day to the house. She enjoyed the convenience of technology allowing her to shop for everything online, including groceries. Her biggest joy though, was her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and taught them all the core values of life.
Betty is survived by her husband, Thomas Adsmond, Sr.
