Betty Alford's Obituary
Betty Alford, age 90, of Chanute, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Chanute, Kansas. Betty was born on July 21, 1925 in Chanute, KS the daughter of Walter Lee and Lois Ruth (Roggers) Hartman.
On July 6, 1947, Betty married Earl Dean Alford at the First Baptist Church in Chanute Earl preceded her in death on December 22, 2002.
Betty was a farmer, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a wife and a homemaker. She was a 4-H leader and a Sunday school teacher for 50 years. She was president of the Fairfield PTA and even taught grade school in Leanna for a year. She sat on the election board and was a member of the Leanna HDU homemakers association. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in Chanute.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; and brothers Robert L. Hartman and Kenneth C. Hartman.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Christian Church in Chanute, KS on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to the First Christian Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
