Betty Colleen Cox's Obituary
Betty Colleen Cox, age 90, of Humboldt, KS passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017. Betty was born on January 1, 1927 in rural Delphos, KS, the daughter of Irwin Samuel and F. Leona (Baldwin) King. She married Robert Hugh Cox on November 27, 1947 in Concordia, KS. He preceded her in death.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was valedictorian at Linn High School and graduated from Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina, and took accounting classes at State Fair Community College in Sedalia, MO. Betty worked as an accountant for many years in Sedalia and Topeka, KS. She was a very active member of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Topeka, KS where she started visitation teams, Saturday night worship services, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was a youth group sponsor. Betty was a member of United Methodist Women and held nearly all local, district, and conference offices. In her spare time, she liked to cook and garden, and traveled the United States coast to coast, with Colorado being her favorite place to visit.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Park United Methodist Church at 2914 SE Michigan Ave in Topeka, KS followed immediately by a service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, KS.
