Betty Lea Schild's Obituary
Betty Lea Schild, age 64, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 16, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Betty was born on November 24, 1959, in Wichita, Kansas to Bernard Lee Davis and Mary Winifred (Radar) Price. Betty was then raised in Augusta, Kansas.
On May 11th, 1985, she married Lee Schild. She moved to Humboldt, Kansas, and made it her new home. She chose to be a homemaker to assist in staying home to raise her three children. She was a coach for all her children's sports and her sister's softball coach. She enjoyed softball and bowling. She bowled for years and participated in several bowling tournaments, and always placed. She enjoyed coloring in her coloring books and wood painting then gave them as gifts. She collected owl ornaments and shot glasses from different states. Likewise, Betty loved spending time with her family by going on little family vacations to the zoo and museums with her husband and when her children were younger. She enjoyed going to sporting events with her husband. She also enjoyed staying up late playing gin rummy, eating cheesecake and watching Law and Order Special Victims Unit and Golden Girls sitcoms with her daughter, Brandy, and then attending concerts with her other daughter, Mary. Betty valued her time with her son Brandon, his wife Aubrey Rose, and their son, Nathan. Nathan, being the first and only grandson, who was the light of her world. Betty also spent valuable time and reflected on the good times she remembered having with her sisters Brenda, and Vonda.

Brandy and husband, Steven Swisher of Chanute, KS

Brenda and her husband, Glenn Smith of Augusta, KS
Vonda and her husband, Blake Steuven of Augusta KS
Grandchildren:
Nathan Schild of South Korea
And, over 40 nieces and nephews
Betty was preceded in her death by both of her parents and her brother, Butch Lee Davis.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 9:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Humboldt with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am. Burial will follow mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Humboldt. Memorials have been suggested to the Lymphoma Research Foundation and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
