Betty Jo Smith, 83, formerly of Chanute, KS, passed away on May 2, 2018 in Olathe, KS. Betty was born in Iola, KS to V.B. and Eva Mae (Russell) Richardson on March 14, 1935. She graduated from Chanute High School and then married Richard D. Smith. He preceded her in death after 61 years of marriage.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard.
A visitation will be held at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Leanna Cemetery in rural Chanute. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
