Beulah Mae (Gregory) Fields' Obituary
Beulah Mae (Gregory) Fields, age 104, of Chanute, Kansas passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at her home in Chanute. She was born on August 14, 1910 to Noah and Garah (Wilson) Gregory. Beulah married Henry Fields and they resided in Buffalo, Kansas and later moved to Chanute. Beulah was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Chanute.
Beulah loved to cook and was known for inviting people over for the Sunday meal. She was known as “Momma Beulah” from people in the community because of the way she treated and cared for everyone. Beulah was always ready to help people out and she touched many lives. She most importantly loved her family and friends and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, parents, a son, Lawrence “Butch” Harris, brothers: Leo Gregory, Lewis Gregory and Robert D. Gregory, sisters: Iula Gregory and Charles Etta Gregory, a nephew, Roy Chester Glazier.
Beulah is survived by her daughter, Loretta Perkins of Cedar Hill, TX, daughter-in-law, Deborah Harris of Chanute, KS, niece, Eula Boykins of Eufaula, OK, five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, several cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service for Beulah will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Family suggests memorials to the New Hope Baptist Church and may be mailed to or left with the funeral home, Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
