Beulah Louise Thomas' Obituary
Beulah Louise Thomas, age 94, passed away January 27, 2024.
Beulah was born October 28, 1929 to Stanley and Mildred (Hill) Doggett in rural Howard, KS. She graduated from Howard High School in 1948. She worked at the First National Bank in Howard, KS.
On January 19, 1952, Beulah married Robert “Bob” Thomas at the United Methodist Church in Howard, KS. They were married 53 years until his death on July 7, 2005. In December 1953, they purchased a farm north of Longton, KS. Beulah had to quit her job that she loved at the bank, because the couple only had one vehicle. They lived on that farm for the rest of their lives.
Beulah belonged to the Howard Rebekah Lodge and the Fredonia Promades, a square dance club.
Survivors include:
Daughter, Marlene Wilcox and husband Steve of Wichita
Son, Robert “Joe” Thomas and wife Nancy of Howard
Three grandchildren: Amos Williams of Wichita, Ryan Thomas of Emporia, and Sarah Galvin of Niverville Manitoba, Canada
Three great-grandchildren: Joanna Williams, Aston Galvin, and Aiden Galvin
Her sister, Myrtle Dewey of Wichita.
In addition to her husband Bob Thomas, infant son David, brother Malcolm, and sister Joyce preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, KS. The family will receive friends at visitation from 12:30 to 1:30 PM prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Howard, KS
Memorial contributions in memory of Beulah can be made to the Independence Humane Society and may be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
