Beverly Camille Gordon's Obituary
Beverly Gordon, 80, of Chanute, KS, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her home. Beverly was born on February 18, 1937 in Chanute, KS, the daughter of Clarence and Beulah (Bossell) Williams. She was raised in and attended school in Chanute.
Beverly married Magnus Gordon of Chanute, KS. He preceded her in death in 2004. Beverly very much loved the Lord. She was an active member in the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She was a pianist and organist, Deaconess and church clerk for many years. She also served as a volunteer at the Red Cross, Cherry Street Youth Center, and served on the committee of the Church of Alliance. She was also previously a member, choir director, and pianist of Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Humboldt, KS.
Beverly worked at Kustom Electronics for 20 years as Human Resource manager until her retirement.
Beverly is survived by her children, Jondra Fox of Chanute, Mai and husband Saul Davis of Belleville, MI, Wayne Anderson of Chanute, Joi and husband Craig Harris of Chanute, and Ronald Gordon of Chanute; sisters, Marian Handley of Raytown, MO and Twilla Smith of Tonganoxie, KS; brother, Dana and wife Linda Williams of Barnakat, NJ; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Magnus; and brothers, Chester Williams and Clarence "Corky" Williams.
Beverly loved her family and was a caring and giving person to many.
Cremation has been requested.
The family will be holding a memorial service at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Chanute, KS on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Memorials have been suggested to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and may be left with or mailed to the church.
