Billie Price's Obituary
Billie Price, age 91, a resident of Wichita, Kansas passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita. He was born on February 24, 1923 in Hutchinson, Kansas the son of Samuel Eschal and Pearl May (Remington) Price.
During World War II, Billie served in the United States Coast Guards. After his time in the Coast Guard he decided to re-enlist and joined the United States Air Force and served as flight engineer during the Korean War. Billie loved his time serving in both branches of the military. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Midian Shrine in Wichita. For many years he drove the hospital van for the shrine driving kids to St. Louis to the Shriners Hospital for Children. He reached the “100,000 Mile Club” for driving children to the hospital.
Billie is survived by two daughters, Tina Jackson of Howard, Kansas and Billie Jean Fleming of Florence, Kansas and two grandsons, Broc Jackson of Crown Point, Indiana and Price Jackson of Howard, Kansas.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
