Billy Edward Culp's Obituary
Billy Edward Culp, age 76, of Petrolia, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2016 in Kansas City, Kansas after a 3 years battle with cancer. Bill was born on January 5, 1940 in Kansas City, KS the son of Elmer O. and MaeBelle Jean (Graham) Culp.
The family moved to LaHarpe, KS during the 1951 flood. Bill graduated from Iola High School in 1959 and went on and joined the United States Air Force. He served 8 years before being honorably discharged. Bill worked for the M.K.T. Railroad for 30 years before retiring in 1997.
He married Barbara J. Allen on September 29, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Erie, KS. Barbara preceded him in death on July 22, 1994. Bill later married Edna Mueller on January 5, 1995 and she survives him at the home. Bill had several hobbies that he enjoyed doing such as fishing, traveling and working in the garden and yard work. He also loved watching the NFL and listening to music and going dancing. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. Bill was baptized in the First Christian Church in Kansas City, KS in 1948. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Chanute.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and wife Barbara.
A Visitation will be held at Countryside Funeral Home, Johnson Chapel at 101 N. Highland in Chanute, KS on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt at a later date. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
