Blanche Maxine (Dell) Barnhart's Obituary
Blanche Maxine Barnhart, age 87, of Chanute, Kansas passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Heritage Healthcare of Chanute. She was born on September 16, 1927 in Humboldt, Kansas to James Dell and Evea (Myer) Dell Pinkley. Blanche grew up in the Humboldt area and attended the Humboldt Schools.
Blanche married Earl Edwin Barnhart on January 22, 1944 in Erie, Kansas. She was a great housewife and was always helping on the farm. Blanche was a member of Jolly Sewing Club in Thayer and was also a member of Westview Southern Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earl, parents, sons: James E. Barnhart and Martin E. Barnhart, brothers: James Dell, Tom Pinkley, and George Pinkley, sisters: Shirley Dell Mathis, Kathy Pinkley Robbins, Phyllis Pinkley Andres and Lois Pinkley Owens, daughter-in-law, Marsha Ann Barnhart Osburn and grandson, John Lewis.
Blanche is survived by her son Greg L. Barnhart of Chanute, daughter, Janice M. Lewis of Midwest City, OK, brother, Ed Pinkley of Kingman, Kansas, sister, Linda Pinkley Taylor of Wichita, KS and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Service for Blanche will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Westview Southern Baptist Church in Chanute. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday May 12, 2015. Cremation will take place after service. Family suggests memorials to the Westview Southern Baptist Church –Youth Programs and may be mailed to or left with the funeral home, Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
