Bobby Earl VanBuskirk's Obituary
Bobby Earl VanBuskirk, age 83, a resident of Howard, Kansas passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas. He was born on February 1, 1930 in Howard the son of Earl Thomas and Eda Myrtle (Chase) VanBuskirk.
On July 11, 1948, Bobby was united in marriage to Betty May Signer at the Signer Farm near Howard. During the Korean War he served his country in the United States Army. Bobby worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for many years. He was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church, American Legion Carter – Rader Post, NRA, Howard City Council, Farm Bureau and AARP.
Bobby is survived by his wife Betty VanBuskirk of Howard, Kansas, son Thomas VanBuskirk of Arvada, Colorado, daughter Charla Kitchersid of Doniphan, Missouri, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Aaron Zellner.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Howard United Methodist Church with Pastor Stacy Ellsworth officiating. Interment will be at Grace Lawn Cemetery Memorials are suggested to the American Legion Carter Rader Post and may be sent to Countryside Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1233, Howard, KS 67349.
