Bonnie Lou Pennington's Obituary
Bonnie Lou Pennington, age 81, of Chanute, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the Peggy Kelly House in Topeka, KS. Bonnie was born September 12, 1932 in Kingman, Mo., the daughter of Mose and Mary (Harris) Prather.
Bonnie married William “Bill” Pennington on August 20, 1951 in Iola, KS. He preceded her in death. Bonnie worked as a Mastectomy Supply Fitter. She belonged to the Mother’s Club and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chanute.
Bonnie is survived by her sons; Larry Pennington and wife Jolene of Centerville, KS, Garry Pennington and wife Mary of Chanute, KS, daughter; Sandra Alfrey and husband Randy of Topeka, KS, brothers; Dave Prather of Meeker, CO., Earnest Prather of Ohio, brother-in-laws; Charles Caudell, Sheldon Caudell, sister-in-laws; Pat Prather, Elaine Brooks, Shirley Driskill, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Mose and Mary Prather, husband, Bill, sisters; Violet, Darlene, Millie, and brothers; Joe and Dalem.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 12, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Chanute.
Family suggests memorials to either the First United Methodist Church or the Breast Cancer Society, and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
