Calvin Coolidge Stoll's Obituary
Calvin Coolidge Stoll age, 89, of Chanute, KS passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Diversicare in Chanute, KS. Calvin was born the son of Guy and Bessie (Mitchell) Stoll on December 3, 1924 in Rose, KS.
Calvin joined the Army in February of 1943 and proudly served his country in WWII. During his service he earned numerous medals including the WWII Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Three Bronze Service Stars, and a Bronze Star Medal.
He married Georgena Wolken and she preceded him in death on May 30, 1970. Calvin later married Lola Welch on September 2, 1976 in Caney, KS. Calvin worked for Nu-Wa for 14 years in the maintenance department and as a mechanic.
Calvin is survived by his wife Lola, children; Paul Stoll and wife Helen of Yates Center, KS, Terry Stoll and wife Janette of Chanute, KS, Charles Stoll and wife Cindy of Chanute, KS, Calvin Stoll Jr. and wife Pamela of Highland Village, TX, Janet Geren and husband Kevin of Marion, KS, Kevin Stoll and wife Erica of Iola, KS, Angela Stanley of Iola, KS, brother; Harold Stoll of Chanute, KS, sister; Lora Faye Snell of Mesquite, TX, and 16 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Bessie, first wife Georgena, brothers; Edward Stoll, Paul Stoll (infant) and Donald Stoll.
Graveside services will be held at Buffalo Cemetery on Tuesday April 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Family suggests memorials to Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University, and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
