Carl Gene Ranabargar II's Obituary
Carl Gene Ranabargar II, 79, of Chanute passed away at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical surrounded by family on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Carl was born on December 20, 1943, in Chanute, Kansas, the son of Carl Gene, Sr. and Cora Margaret (Drake) Ranabargar.
Carl grew up in Chanute and graduated from Chanute High School in 1961. On July 15, 1974, Carl married the love of his life Lucinda Rae Tague, they were married for 49 years until her passing on August 14, 2023.
Carl was an incredibly hard worker that instilled into his children and grandchildren the value of hard work. He was also one that you could rely on for advice, whether you wanted it or not. Carl was also a big jokester that tried to make light of everything.
Carl was an avid fan of Kansas basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Neosho County Community College women’s basketball. Carl also loved classic cars and enjoyed restoring them. Carl also enjoyed going on cruises with Lucinda and spending time with their wiener dogs.
Carl was also very active in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt and was a member of CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association) and did prison ministry around the state.
Carl was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Carl is survived by his son Cayle Ranabargar (Candie) of Petrolia, KS, his daughter Jennifer Ranabargar Martinez (Anthony) Petrolia, KS, his brother Lynn Ranabargar (Helen) of Chanute, KS, one grandson Levi, four granddaughters, and seven great-grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents Carl, Sr. and Margaret, his wife Lucinda, his brother Rick Ranabargar, and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt with services to immediately follow at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the services at Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Memorials have been suggested to the Neosho County Community College Women’s Basketball team c/o coach JJ Davis and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
