Carl "Rick" Wilson's Obituary
Carl Richard “Rick” Wilson, 67, passed away on August 31, 2019 at Arrowood Lane Assisted Living Facility, Humboldt, KS. He was born to Charles Clark Wilson & Katherine Carlene Powell on August 30, 1952 in Chanute, KS.
Rick graduated from Chanute High School in 1970. After graduation Rick did Plumbing & HVAC work at Lampliters & Comfort Contractors in Chanute, worked at Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant 1977-1980. Rick established Rick’s Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning Business which he operated for many years in Chanute, KS. Rick was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute.
In 1970 Rick married Mitzi J. Beck, they later divorced, but have remained close friends through the years, sharing in the love of their 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren.
Rick is survived by daughters, Stacey Wilson McCoy (Troy) of Merritt Island, FL and Steffany Wilson Henderson (Les) of Moran, KS; 6 grandchildren, Joshua Connor, Jaide Connor, Rylee McCoy, Garrett Henderson, Chloe Henderson & Kai Henderson; 3 brothers, Duane & Kevin, Wichita & Jim, Chanute; one sister, Sylvia Umbarger, Chanute.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Kenneth & Donnie.
Rick loved gardening. Up until two days before his death he was watering, weeding and planting flowers in his beloved flower gardens at Arrowood. A legacy for staff & residents to enjoy for many years.
Cremation has been requested. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel.
A family graveside & memorial service to be announced at a later date.
