So sorry for the loss of your Mom!
It's a lengthy story, but both Carla and Gerry played such a big part in my life circa early-1970's when, as a visitor to Chanute from Australia, they set up an auto trim shop in their own commercial establishment in order to give me a job thereby enabling me to receive permanent residency from U.S. Immigration. Brian played the drums in a 3-piece band along with Doug Toon and myself and we became quite popular locally. Shilo Canyon was our name and we continued as a 3-piece until Ken Madden later joined us on bass. As far as I was concerned, Carla (and also Gerry) as well as several other locals were 'my saviors' and I don't say that lightly. Everyone who knows 'my story' knows this.
Carla, my dear friend, RIP until we meet again on the other side. Brian and Bruce, both of whom are etched in my memory still as young boys, please accept my condolences and don't hesitate to contact me at any time. In fact, I would LOVE to hear from either of you!

So sorry to hear of Carla's passing. She shared a period of my life and I will always remember her.
I meant Carla and Gerald through their son Brian. I always like going down to their lake house was Brian and on the first day we would always have to rake all the leaves clean up everything and get everything ready for summer and Carla would always be inside making sure that we had awesome meals to eat and treated everyone like family. She was always smiling and made everybody feel welcomed.
Brian, Bruce and Family,
Your Mom was such a wonderful lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We bowled together probably 40 years ago. It was a fun team, and Carla always made us laugh
