Carlie Sue Almond's Obituary
Carlie Sue Almond, 15, Chanute, died unexpectedly December 31, 2015, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. She was born February 24, 2000, in Chanute, the daughter of Brad and Amy (McGee) Almond.
Carlie was an inspiration to all, through her faith, family and world of friends. She was a vibrant, outgoing girl, always full of life and a ray of sunshine that warmed the hearts of everyone she met. She showed us how to love, laugh, and live. She was wise beyond her years and the shoulder to lean on for all. Oh, that smile of our little angel would light up the room wherever she went.
Carlie grew so close to God and touched so many lives through her love for Him the last couple of years. She has done her job here on Earth, teaching us all how to live. This little angel was right under our noses all this time, absorbing everything around her to teach us and lead us in the right ways. Carlie’s love is all around us, still touching our hearts and continuing to teach us. She will remain in our hearts forever.
Carlie was a member of the First United Methodist Church and KICS Youth Group. She was also currently involved in many clubs and activities, including Student Government, Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Future Business Leaders of America, CHS Yearbook, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Foreign Language Club, Blue Crew, and 4-H. She participated for many years in volleyball, basketball, track, and dance.
Carlie is survived by her parents, Brad and Amy (McGee) Almond, and her younger brother Garrett; maternal grandparents, Mike and Beverly McGee; paternal grandparents, John and Phyllis Almond; aunts, uncles and cousins: Steve and Jamie Craig and son Colin, Grove, Okla., Carrie and Mark Hegg and sons Grant and Chance, Burlington, Sarah and Waylon Steinman and children Dylan, Riley, and Ashlynn, Baldwin City; maternal great-grandmother, Jean McGee, Rochester, Minn.; paternal great-grandmother, “Nanny” Norma Crabtree, Chanute; and numerous extended aunts, uncles and cousins.
