Carmen Collett, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021. She was preceded in in death by her parents, Frank and Nellie Collett, and brothers George, Joe, and Marion. She was the youngest, born april 19, 1917. She lived in Chanute unt Read Obituary
I would like to include the information that Larry Collett was not aware of--That is that Carmen celebrated her 100th Birthday here at Chanute Housing Authority and it was rare as residents do not live that long. I have so many memories like us walking hand in hand down the main street and we would go to Opie's to eat. Another is when her and I would stand on the corner of Steuben and Main and we would talk to the drivers as they stopped at the stop sign. When I moved into the "High Rise" over 13 years ago,I remember waking up that first morning and I did not know anybody.I came downstairs and there was Carmen(and Violet) and they cheered me up and I told Carmen that she was a Big Ball of Sunshine! And do you know what? I can feel her "Sunshine" up there in heaven!!!
I am continuing to stand at the corner of Main and Steuben. Carmen is here in Spirit.
