Carol Joy Cress' Obituary
Carol Joy Cress, age 70, of Humboldt, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly at Diversicare of Chanute on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Carol was born on January 23, 1947 in Dillon, Montana, the daughter of Lee Stanley and Ethel Cecilie (Hansen) Martinell.
On July 3, 1971, Carol married Don Cress at American Lutheran Church in Dillon, Montana.
Carol was a loving mother and grandmother, and the love of Don’s life. She was tough and worked hard as a registered dietician, caregiver, and housewife. For the past 30 years, she assisted Don in taking care of Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt. Carol was a very thoughtful and humble woman who always put her family and others first. While her children were growing up, she willingly helped them with their 4-H projects, sports events, and school functions. She was a member of American Lutheran Church and attended Humboldt United Methodist Church. Carol touched many lives and will be missed by many.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister, Janice Martinell.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, KS at a later date. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
