Charles William Crowder's Obituary
Charles William Crowder, age 76, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2017 in Pittsburg, Kansas. Charles was born on April 5, 1941 in Louisburg, KS the son of Bill and Etta (Eppers) Crowder.
Charles graduated from Altoona Midway High School in 1959. He married Ruth Taylor in 1965 and they later divorced. Charles worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 30 years as a carman and foreman before retiring in 2003. He was a member of the NRA and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery and riding his Harley. Charles never spent much time inside and always said that he would never own a rocking chair to sit inside. Charles most of all loved spending time with his family and he loved his grandkids. He will be greatly missed.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley Debler.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel. Interment will following at Altoona Cemetery in Altoona, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
