Charles Edwin Ferguson's Obituary
Charles Edwin Ferguson, of Fredonia, age 79, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas. Charles was born on December 17, 1930 at Tipton, Missouri the son of Edwin L. and Thelma A. (Woolridge) Ferguson
After high school Charles received his Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Missouri. On March 19, 1952 Charles enlisted into the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on May 22, 1953 at the rank of Yeoman Third Class. On December 22, 1950 Charles married Mary Jo Bauers. They were married for 22 years until her death of February 14, 1973. On September 10, 1976 in Miami, Oklahoma he married Colleen Umbarger / Dean. Charles and Colleen were married for 33 years, Colleen survives at their home.
Charles retired from Lafarge in Fredonia as the Distributions Manager. He was a member of the Thayer United Methodist Church and was the Chairman of the Board of the Thayer United Methodist Church. Charles enjoyed playing golf, loved the Royals, Chiefs and Missouri Tigers.

Lynn and Karen Umbarger of Wichita, Kansas
Dick and Sue Harding of Thayer, Kansas
11 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by; parents, first wife Mary Jo, and mother in law Eula Umbarger.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 7, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Thayer United Methodist Church with Pastor Myron Stover officiating, with burial to follow at the Thayer City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 6, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Countryside Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Thayer United Methodist Church and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
