Charlie Miller's Obituary
Charles "Charlie" Craig Miller, 72, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by his family on May 6, 2025. Born April 14, 1953, in Sedan, Kansas, to Charles F Miller and Frances Roper. Charlie spent his formative years in Winfield, Kansas, before moving to Topeka with his father. He later dedicated his working life to the skilled trade of welding and pipefitting. He joined Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 767/430 in 1980 switching to Local 441 in 1996.
In 1979, a friend introduced Charlie to the love of his life, Judy Lukens. They married in Arkansas City in 1983, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter in Winfield, Kansas, before moving to Ponca City six years ago to be closer to their children.
Charlie’s life was rich with hobbies and passions. He cherished motorcycle rides with Judy, relished visits with loved ones, and found joy in hunting, fishing, and metal detecting. He was fascinated by airplanes taking flying lessons from his uncle Gary Roper as a young man and even soloed.. He was a member of Christian Motorcyclists Association, where he served a term as President of the Praise Riders Chapter. Above all, Charlie cherished his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, unwavering love, laughter and countless cherished memories.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Judy Miller of the home; sons, Stephen Leftwich and his wife Tam of Springfield, Missouri, and Daniel Miller of Ponca City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Avery Leftwich and his wife Angela, Rowdy Miller, and Joslie Miller of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and three great-grandchildren, Atreyu, Atlas, and Alara Leftwich. Sister, Sherri Miller of Winfield, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Jeff Miller and Kyle Huff.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Green Lawn Cemetery near Grenola, KS
Memorial contributions in Charlie’s name can be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
