Charlotte Louise Bowyer's Obituary
Charlotte Louise Bowyer, age 94, of Chanute, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 in Chanute, Kansas. Charlotte was born October 9, 1922 in Nashville, TN the daughter of Floyd and Louise Polk (Avery) Prince.
On August 3, 1947, Charlotte married Wendell Bowyer at the Neosho County Courthouse in Erie, KS. They were married 59 years before he preceded her in death.
Charlotte loved to watch KU Basketball and the KC Royals. She was an avid bingo player at the VFW and Country Place Senior Living. Charlotte loved going to the casino and fishing at Timberlake on the party barge. Charlotte was an excellent seamstress and loved any kind of crafts, but especially loved playing dirty marbles with her best friends, Orville and Joyce Breiner. Charlotte was a member of the Methodist Church and Eastern Star.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wendell; brothers Harry Prince and Bud Prince; and sisters, Dorothy Straka and Martha Bowin.
A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Countryside Funeral Home, Gibson Chapel at 16 N. Forest in Chanute, KS. A funeral service will follow immediately at 2 pm at Gibson Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
