Dear Charlotte,
I just want to say thank you.
Growing up, your home was like a second home to me. I spent so much time there during my teenage years, and I always felt welcome—like I belonged. Even now, all these years later, I still remember that feeling. No matter how long it had been or whether I gave any warning, I always knew I could show up and you’d greet me with a smile. I probably made a pest of myself more than once, but you never made me feel like anything less than part of the family.
Your kindness, your strength, your laughter around the dinner table, card table or just sitting on the swing have long conversations—those are things I’ll never forget. You had a way of showing love that left a lasting impact, not just on your own family, but on everyone lucky enough to know you.
You created a home filled with warmth and laughter and I was so privileged to be able to share in that from time to time. Your legacy lives on through your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. And they were so lucky to have you. You almost always had a young one in your arms or at your feet and they learned so much about goodness from you. You raised good people and you should be so very proud of that.
Thank you for all of it. I will miss you dearly.
To the rest of the family, I offer my love and condolences. If anyone needs anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
