Chester Dale Morris' Obituary
Chester Dale Morris, age 78, a resident of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Chester was born November 12, 1934 the youngest son of Ed and Alice (Poole) Morris in Howard, Kansas.
Chet graduated from Piedmont High School, in Piedmont, Kansas. He married Mary Morss on January 9, 1954 in Howard. To that union two sons were born, Mike and Don. Chet then joined the Air Force that August and served for 8 years, and was very proud of his service record. Chet later worked for Cudahy Meat Packing. He loved to fish, garden, and work in his shop repairing anything that was broken.
Chester is survived by his wife Mary of the home, sons; Mike and wife Trudy Morris of Wichita, Kansas, Don and wife Shawn Morris also of Wichita, Kansas, brother; Gene and wife Mary Lou Morris of Redding, California, sister; Dorothy Goss of Wichita, Kansas, three grandsons; Garrett, Christopher and wife Tiffany, and Tyler Morris, and two great-granddaughters; Gracie and Brooke. Chet was very proud of his sons and grandkids.
Chet was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers a great granddaughter, and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard with Pastor Stacy Ellsworth officiating. Family suggests contributions to the Gracelyn Louise Foundation in memory of his great-granddaughter Gracie, www.GivingforGracie.com and may be left with the funeral home.
